"Fibre, Fabric, Fashion" Final Project!

Today I had my final photo shoot for the final project for FFF (Fibre Fabric Fashion). Most amazing class ever, Toshiko told me I was “floating” (which you can only fully understand the meaning of, if you have heard her story) . And that I have become more free in my work : ) “She is the most amazing human being” as one of my classmates said. I whole heartedly agree!
My final piece was inspired by Toshiko, an amazing silk kimono from the chinise royal family (which she let us touch!) and the Halifax harbour.
Here are some pictures my talented friend Jin took for me!:

Yesterday I Bought Three Houses for 75 Cents!

Yes, its true! I really did buy three houses for 75 cents! There was a show at the Anna Leonowens Gallery and the artist had a lot of one cubit boxes on top of plinths the same size. Then day by day they were removed and stacked in the front windows: thus revealing the objects underneath (the sort of vases and nick knacks you would find in a thrift store). On Friday and Saturday she was selling them for 25 cents a piece! I got three tiny little houses which probably were part of a mode village at some point. I'm already thinking of ways to make them into jewelry!

I also went to the big NSCAD printmaking sale where they also had a t-shirt printing table where they were doing woodblock prints! Yay! I chose the "print your own t-shirt" option for $5! I got a lovely anchor on a plain green shirt :)
