The Most Amazing Class I Have ever taken!

My very most favorite class is called Fibre, Fabric, Fashion. We get to make the most fun wearable art! And we have a blast doing it! My teacher is Toshiko MacAdams (a well known Japanese fibre artist) and she is the most motivated caring individual. I love her, as do we all! :) I am now in the intermediate class and I am so glad I am! She challenges my thinking and gets me working in ways I never did before.

Sometimes it is painful, like the time we had to cut holes into fabric and make a garment. No patterns of any kind, just cutting and trying it on your body. This was really awful for me, what if I cut a hole in the wrong place and there is a horrible gash that can never be entirely fixed?!! Toshiko tells me simply: cut hole, put over your head, put in arm, put in leg. If you do not want the hole, sew it up and cut new holes! But now I am so much less afraid that I will ruin fabric! I just cut into it and away I go!!!

Our first project of this semester was a white knit "body sock"(as it was deemed). We had a length of white cotton jersey and we teamed up and sewed each other a outfit that was based on their personality (although my partner for the project apparently did not plan it around my personality [or so she told me *shifty eyes*]).

P.S. I am the one that looks like the boogy man....
