Leggings!!!!

<><>
TA DA!!!! I made leggings! I'm so excited that I have a serger now! :D

Look how professonal the waist band even looks! *beams with delight*

I really need to make a bunch of skirts now, I have decided that I am going to avoid pants as much as possible....I mean, is there really anything more frustrating to shop for then pants that actually fit?!!! Plus skits are one of the easier things to make my self!

Alas, I need to get busy. I have limited time left before I go back to school and I really am tired of wearing my three denim skits every day (two of which I did make, but I really need more selection!).

Also this spring I am making my friend's grad dress...I should start drawing up some plans to show her....

Oh yes, and I have lots of pictures of my adventures in Halifax....I need to get busy on making more posts! I am actually getting motivated now.....now that time is of the essence! I really need to work on getting motivated before I am in a crunch for time :P

Ta ta for now darlings! :)

So Many Exciting Ideas....So Little Time :P

Today started out with me going on a shopping trip to Dollerama for glaze materials….yes that’s right, glaze materials! In my ceramics technology class we are making kitchen glazes with easily sourced items from drugstores, grocery stores and so on. I made mine with cat litter (sodium bentonite), mascara (iron oxide), baby powder (magnesium carbonate), borax (good source of boron [maybe other stuff too, just too lazy to check]), baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and toothpaste (titanium dioxide,, calcium carbonate, hydrated silica, sodium bicarbonate)! …..We shall see how it turns out on Tuesday! I made two variations on the recipe. Oh, by the way, those weirdly shaped things are the test tiles we had to make..in my opinion they look pretty dumb, but they were good stress relievers to make!

So after that I went to my favourite class ever!!! And our teacher Toshiko Macadam did a sort of presentation on her life….it was A-MAZING!!! I love her so much : ) She is pretty well know and has worked for a high end fabric company in New York….plus end-less other amazing things! The thing that impacted me the most about what she said was the reason why she likes to make her work from textiles, it was something along the lines of: Textiles do not last forever, they are here now in my time. when I am gone, my pieces will last awhile. But they are not like big monuments made of stone, they are more precious, that is what makes them so beautiful! Like human life, we are here now and then we are gone. I do not in anyway do her justice in the way she said it… but I hope you can get a sense of it

UPDATE: This glaze turned out pretty well.....forgot to take a picture though :P But it turned out a nice golden yellow :) Yaaaaay! Success! I was so happy :)

Hello! Sorry for the Delay :P

So, I do realize that I have been dreadful at blogging these days….*ahem* When life has the most stories to be told, you always have the least time to tell them. Rats :P

You all are probably wondering what I have been up to, well for one I made a dress from VHS tape! As well as a headpiece made from two old lampshades and the covers of the movies I used. Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure! The photos were taken by my friend Jin :)

Hello Halifax!

So, I have moved! Yes, I moved to Halifax which is on the other side of canada, which is pretty much almost like moving to a different country! I have a pretty sweet little basement suite! :) And I have now had my first week of classes! I love how there's so many classes I am interested in! I have this one class thats all about how clothing relates to the body and it's more of a scultpture class then a tradtional fashion school type class.....which is excatly what I wanted! I am so excited about it! The teacher is a older jappanse lady and she seems so passionate about teaching, yay! She even still uses slides (like my favorite teacher from my last college), I think she shall be my new favorite teacher :]

Hello Darlings!!!! (who probably don't exsist [I think I must only be the one who reads my blog {Or maybe they just don't leave comments! HINT HINT}])

Lately I have been horrible at keeping up with my blogging! I haven't even been posting fb status'....or writing in my journal (also known as the story book of my life!!! [I should write that on it!]). I am really being awful at documenting my life in any way! It really is interesting though to look back on your life and your thoughts and views on things at the time. Usually I end up laughing at myself! It's actually quite entertaining!

Click HERE for the website that I found this handmade journal on!
SO....big news! I have been accepted into my dream school!!! I am so excited! And I even have found a place to live there! Plus they are having orientation....*drum roll*...on the beach!!!! It really does NOT get any better then that! Okay...well there is a very small charge...but it almost can't get better then that!

Helloooo!

So you may have been wondering where I have been all this time. With so few posts...okay none. Well I was crazy busy in school and then I just got out of the habit of blogging, so I thought I should get back into it!

Here's some pictures from my recent life:
So I went to B.C. for a week to visit my aunt and we popped down to the states to do some shopping! I bought these lovely leather shoes there :)
Some coconut ice cream we stopped and got on the way to shopping! It was from a really good dairy that my late grandfather always liked to go to.

Some tropical looking plants growing in Vancouver!

A Self Portrait I did :) Not too sure it looks like me...but I kind of like it!
The picture on the left is the one I used for reference.

Some fresh spring colts!

So cute! :)

I'm Back! :D

I just got back from Halifax today! It was a very intense trip, trying to pack in as much touring of the city as was humanly possible and not freezing to death while we were at it. And the first day we spent only $8 CD on food (two samosas) and that night we slept for 16 hours (grrrrr jet lag!!!). The second day we ate at a  coffee shop twice and a little restaurant called Bluenose II (it wasn't that great) and we slept for 8 hours. The third day we ate lunch at The Wooden Monkey and had dinner at The Press Gang (lunch was amazing and dinner far surpassed it![ they both cost more then we usually would spend on food, but it was so amazing!!!!]) and slept for 4 hours. It's a good thing we didn't stay longer at the rate we were going we would have been spending maybe $200 for food and slept 2 hours if we stayed for a fourth day!!! I think it's funny how each night we had half as much sleep as the last! And the second day I noticed it and told my sister they way we were going, that night we would only be getting 4 hours of sleep....and sure enough we did! Honestly, I didn't even try and do that! Honest!

Hopefully soon I will download my pictures to the computer and post lots of them! Yay! Pictures! :)

Another sphere

A painting my painting teacher did! I just love it :)

Big News!!!

I do realize that I haven't blogged in a long time, but no one seemed to be visiting my blog so I really didn't feel too much like just talking to myself. If I'm writing a email to someone or I know I will get feed back I'm much more likely to feel a obligation to write!!! So why aren't people on my blog commenting!!!! Where is my sister!!? I've been commenting on you're blog why aren't you commenting on my bloooooog!!!!!  *inhale....exhale* Okay, I'm fine now. It's maybe better that she doesn't comment on mine :S

The Big News: Tonight I'm leaving for Halifax!!!! That's in Nova Scotia if you didn't know....which is in Canada....which is on a planet by the name of Earth....which is in some galaxy or another...so on and so forth. And me and my sister are going there because we have a bit of time (without classes, still not free from the piles of homework) because of reading break, also known as spring break, but more appropriately known as suicide prevention week!!! Spring break was started because of the high rate of suicides during this time....I'm starting to understand why that is :P A break will defiantly be well deserved :) But it won't just be a relaxing vacation, we have a lot of city to cover! Especially NSCAD (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design) we were and have been both considering attending NSCAD and actually my sister was accepted there last year but decided to go to another school because they didn't get the acceptance letter out as soon as another school and she decided that she would just go somewhere a little closer. So this year I sent in my application and now all I can do is wait and see what happens! :o Aaaaah!
Halifax!!!

The people in Halifax seem to be really friendly and Nova Scotia is beautiful!!! I have always liked water and the idea of living near some...and Halifax is right on the Ocean! :) It just seems like a very inspiring place to live and the people seem to be very creative and more apt to making things then here. There's quite a few art stores and there's even a pottery supply store! And so many lovely old buildings! And gardens! And light houses! Ahhhh!

The Intergalactic Rocket Stop and Cafe

I painted this last week, it's not all done yet but I think it's looking pretty amazing!!!!! The image on the top (orange) is the painting, the one on the bottom (blue) is inverted. I thought it was pretty clever of me :) The project was called "the intergalactic rocket stop and cafe" and the story was that we (as the alien) met a human and the human descried earth to us (and perhaps left something from earth behind) and the alien did a painting! Then we were suppose to tell a story about it....which I kind of avoided :S We could paint pretty much anything we wanted to, it just had to have a blue sky. So my reason why the sky was orange instead of blue was that my alien saw everything inverted! I am loving this idea! I have to do more of them :D

Christian Dior Flower Dresses!

I was on YouTube and I found this amazing show and I just had to post it because it inspires me! I think the cellophane is so clever! They wrapped the models the same way you would find flowers in the store!

Here are a few that I really really liked!
