Mod Cloth *sigh*

Everywhere I go I seem to see adds for Mod Cloth!!! I love this website, it features the most fantastic clothing, shoes and assessories!!! Everything is so vintage and feminine! Ahhh! If I paid full price for clothing, and if I lived in the U.S. where the shipping doesn't cost almost as much as the item it's self..... I would be shopping here for sure!!!! It's so cute!!! Eeeee! *jumps up and down*

Here's a few of the things I just love!
"Lemon Peel Flat" for $27.99

"I Want To Bow What Love Is Heel in Green" for $117.99 (these are even leather *sigh*)

"Contra Dance Skirt" for $94.99 (Ha ha! I just realized that this skirt matches the above shoes really well!)

"Beacon of Style Skirt" for $39.99

"Apricot Ice Jacket" for $53.99

"The Casserole Queens Dress" for $54.99

Owl City - "Fireflies" (Parody-Ikea)

I know I have been blogging like crazy for the last while, but this is just too funny! It's great!!! Ha ha ha! :D

My Mermaid is Finished!!!!

I finally finished my mermaid polymer sculpture! I think it turned out pretty great :) And I even used real seaweed for it! I started it on Christmas break, and I finished it on Monday.... that's sad. It took me that long! Most of it was, me getting tired of working on it and wanting to start something new. But alas I am done!

I finished it on Monday because I wanted to put it into my portfolio(that was due on Monday) that I had to submit in order to apply for a scholarship! I really hope either the memory stick, or the CD I submitted works. I wasn't sure if the CD got burned correctly, so I dropped off a memory stick with it.

Note to self: Submit things ahead of time, instead five minutes before the deadline! That way you can make sure the CD works!!!!!

Today's Outfit: A Romp in the Woods

Romper: $5(or was it $2.50?)at Winners
Blouse: $2.50 at Urban Planet
Boots: $12.00 at Value Village
Bag: The first bag I ever made, and it is made from some fabric I got at a garage sale for dirt cheap!
Also take note of the loosely up swept bun, apparently it is fashionable for spring. Yes, I have always been rather fond of the undone hair look, it's so very chic (plus, I just don't have the patience to spend that much time on it!)

My Dance Costume!

So I posted yesterday about my first dance recital, but what I didn't mention is that I made the costume my self!!! Yes, the hat, the earrings, the dress, and I even made matching booty shorts for underneath! Plus I painted the hat pins to match :)

I made all the patterns myself, for the dress I copied a pattern from a basic t-shirt from H&M (I love those shirts), for the shorts I used a legging pattern I made from a tutorial over on the threadbanger forums! You can find the amazing legging tutorial here!

It was great! At the dance recital, I got lots of compliments on my outfit! Mothers, other dancers and my teacher all liked it! Yaaay! Compliments always make all the time you spend making stuff worth it! Hee hee!

My costume!!

A closer view of my hat and earrings!
My mommy gave me a rose after the show!!! :D

Those eyelashes and lipstick were so much fun! Eeeeee! I love stage makeup!!! Hee hee!!!

So something that I don't think I have mentioned, is that I just started tap dancing in January. I found out that it's not very common to start dance at my age, especially with no former dance experience at all! But I just want to tell you all that, you are never to old to learn something new!!! Get out there and try something new, you never know you may really love it! I would have missed out on so much if I never put myself out there and tryed tap dance!!!

There was a group of older ladies, they called themselves the "Grooving Grannies"! I was very inspired by the fact that they didn't just sit back and let their brains get soggy!! They where out there dancing, getting exercise and having fun! It was so funny!! They were all dressed in stereotypical "old lady clothing", and they came out walking sort of shaky with canes, then they started dancing!!! It was amazing :D

My First Dance Show!!! Yay!

For my first time on stage I think it went really well! Ok, I guess it's my second time on stage. I was on stage once when I was about five or six. Terrifying experience *shakes head*. My mother left me back stage, there I was small, alone and not a clue as to where I was suppose to go. Then I guess people where wondering where I was, so they opened the curtains. I was the only one they opened the curtains for!!! All the other people who played piano just walked in from stage left!!! Very embarrassing.... Well here I go with a big long story again! Ooopps *sheepish look*

I thought I did really badly, but everyone said I did great! I am very excited about that :) I was somehow even in time with the music most of the time (I was shocked about that). I don't remember a lot of what happened when I was on stage, for the first half of it I think my brain was thinking "Aaaaaaah!!!". And then I forgot what I was suppose to do after I danced on stage, it seemed like I was standing there for about a minute trying to remember what came next! But then my feet just started moving, thank goodness for kinetic memory *whew*. And as it turns out I didn't miss any of my steps! I can not even tell you how relived I was that this went well!!!! :D

And I was really shocked to find out that somebody I know takes dancing lessons with the same school! She is learning highland dancing! It was the funniest thing! We were so surprised to see each other! We both with a look of shock exclaimed simultaneously "What are you doing here?" Ha ha ha ha ha ha! It's so funny where you see people that you know!!!

Well my lovely sister was taking some pictures for me, so I made slide show! Yaaaaay! Yes, I know the pictures could be better, but I better not complain or next time I'll have to hire a photographer...... This is not the song I danced to, I think my teacher said the song I danced to was Button Up Your Overcoat. But the name of the show was Show Biz, so I thought this song would suit it well! Plus I like it better then the song I had.

My Lovely Sunday Outfit!!!

I wore this cute little outfit today to church! I have a confession to make though, I am not wearing a jumper. No, it is in fact a skirt with a belt to sinch in the waist :) Yes, quite clever I thought!

I do really need to get a tripod though, it's just awkward to have to find someplace to set my camera :P

Well anyway I have to go practice my dance, I have a dance recital to be in later!!! Aaaaah! This is so nerve racking. I will have to post pictures of it later! Ta ta for now ;)

The Funnest Lighting!!

These lights were just too much fun for me to not blog about them! I am really tempted by these lights.... They are pretty much amazing!!! I really like the Flamingo Chandelier, but I think my roof is too low anyway. As for the Lawn Flamingo Wall Sconce I think that I am already lacking wall space *sigh*. If you would like to check them out just click HERE!

The Case of the Strange Tapping

The Sunday before last Sunday, my family and I were outside starting a fire for a hot dog roast, when we heard a strange noise coming from a truck that my dad's acquaintance parked in the back of our yard (why is it that when people see our nice sized yard, they feel compelled to fill it up with JUNK!!!!! Arrrgh![sorry about the ranting]). Anyway, it was a sort of rat-tat-tat-tat-tat noise but when we went up the back hill a bit, we didn't see anything. So we went about what we were doing. Then a while later we again heard the rat-tat-tat-tat-tatting. But when we went to investigate again, we saw a wood pecker! There he was on top the truck pecking away at the hard metal roof!

It was quite a bit of work to get this photo, the sucker kept on flying away every time I came to get a picture of him! I got really close the time that I didn't have a camera, but as soon as I brought it he flew away. Grrrr! I would go up the hill, he would fly away. Back down the hill I went and as soon as I got settled into playing hacky sack again, he would come back. Back up the hill I would trot, then he would fly away again! Arrrragh!!!! So my dad decided he would go get a picture of him, he sat up there for quite a while waiting for him and it payed off !!! (Normally I wouldn't care about getting a picture of a woodpecker, but I couldn't have a big long story on my blog with no picture!) So here's a few.

This last one was the pathetic picture I got, with all the smoke in the way :p

One of the times after he flew away, he went to the neighbor's garage and was pecking away on their metal roof! Then a day or two later I was walking in my next door neighbor's field, and I heard the same noise coming from the direction of another neighbor's house down the road. The woodpecker strikes again!!!!
